Diaper Change

Just got back from the hospital for a quick visit. We have an appointment between 1 and 3 today for our internet connection issues, so we had to cut the visit a little short. Our luck, the technician wont be here until 5.

As the nurse had said, Reid was back on his CPAP. It was something that we had hoped we wouldn't see again, but oh well. He was starting to wake up when we walked in the room, so we had an active baby.

His diaper was primed and ready to be changed so Kristen was able to take care of that. Much more difficult to change than we had thought due to the infinite number of wires and tubes. Nonetheless, he has a clean diaper. I offered to take care of the next diaper... and in the same breath, told Kristen that it would probably be the last time that I offer. :)

The nurse gave Reid a pacifier while we were there (a very tiny one at that) and we were able to see him suck away. We didn't think that he was able to handle this so early, but it is the sucking and swollowing coordination that babies aren't able to handle until around 34 weeks. He had his eyes open today more than we had ever seen in the past, so we were pleased to see that. He was moving his eyes side to side as if he were trying to understand where the heck he was and why he was in this crazy world.

We will be going back to the hospital tonight around 8.
