It's my birthday...

Kristen had some complications with her pregnancy which resulted in an earlier than expected birth of our child. Reid Phillips Elley was born at 2:28 pm on Wednesday, September 2nd and weighed 1lb 14.5oz and measured 13 inches in length.

The pictures are a little deceiving --- he is much smaller than he looks as his entire body can probably fit in my hand with his legs hanging off. Despite his small size, he is a very strong boy and is breathing quite well --- all by himself. Kristen is also doing well and is on the quick road to recovery. Unfortunately we will be going home on Sunday without Reid, but I am looking forward to having Kristen back at home after what will be 3 weeks in the hospital.
