Reid has had a few changes over the past few days, so I thought I would type up a blog as I sit here holding him. Kristen had planned on pumping while we were here visiting, but realized that she had forgot two critical pieces of the machine at home, so she had to run out to get them. That leaves me with Reid for some father/son bonding time. :)

They have made a slight chage with his breathing apparatus: instead of the high flow nasal cannulas just when we hold him, they are now trying 12 hrs on and 12 hours back on CPAP. So far, he seems to be tolerating it quite well.

They have also increased his feedings to 32 cc every three hours. He is getting bigger and is requiring more nutrients and instead of just giving more volume, they are fortifying it to 24 calories (his stomach can only handle so much).

Today is also the first time we have seen him in real baby clothes. Sandra, his nurse, picked out a baby blue and white onesie (I will have to upload some pictures later today), so it was definitely a treat when we walked in his room.

Other than that, not much is new. We went over to Jim and Lauren's yesterday to watch the Dawgs get killed by Florida 41-17. UF has our number and seems like this is an annual occurrence. :( Today, we are going to drive up to the north Georgia mountains as soon as we are done here at the NICU. It is a beautiful day today and we are going to make use of it. Hope everyone had a good weekend and a Happy Halloween!!
