10:15pm: down to 97% O2 and sat'ing 96. Nurse seemed a little concerned that we hadn't seen more progress, but we are counting on tonight and tomorrow to start seeing the downward trend. All babies respond differently...

12:45pm: Still at 100%. Doctor's rounded and didn't make any changes other than they increased his pressures on the vent.

I forgot to mentioned yesterday that they are now giving him arginine which is an amino acid that plays an important role in cell division. Some of the benefits include: Precursor for the synthesis of nitric oxide (NO); Reduces healing time of injuries; Quickens repair time of damaged tissue.

9:15am: Reid's O2 is back at 100% and has been there for most of the night. His hypertension doesn't appear to be the issue, his vital signs all look good (blood pressure, heart rate, etc)... which makes them believe that it is all related to his poor lungs. The doctors haven't rounded yet today, so we will see what they suggest... but the nurse feels that they will just wait to see the effects when the dexamethasone kicks in (~36 to 48 hrs).
