3:00pm: Reid has had a fairly agitated day but is still on about 45% O2. After reassessing his weight, they have adjusted some of his meds and feel that they may have weaned the methadone a little too quick. There is no exact formula for weaning it and they have to take it slow and monitor how he reacts.
He was to get clear IV fluids to replace his hyperal, but they have since decided not to as they don't want him taking on any extra fluids that he doesn't need. His current weight is 9lbs 5oz and they want to get "real" growth and not just a baby pumped full of fluids. They have subsequently increased his feedings to 23cc/hour.
No weaning on the high flow today. While his CO2 gas was probably a "wean-able" number, they want to take it very slow.
10:00am: Reid had another good night. His CO2 was 60 (slightly higher than yesterday, but still good for him). Not much else to report, so I will keep this post short. :)
