6:30pm: Guess who got weaned to 4 liter flow? This guy:

1:15pm: Reid had a good CO2 gas of 42 this morning, but was probably closely related to the change in diuretic that they are giving him. Now that they are giving him lasix every other day (instead of daily), they are supplementing it with diamox. Diamox is probably used for many other reasons than what Reid is using it for, but for him, in addition to it being a diuretic, it is also helping with his excess base (and possibly his CO2). I believe the plan is to eventually get him off the lasix and onto this drug.

The only change they made in rounds today was the calorie reduction of his feeds. They have now moved down even further to 22 calorie.

Kristen just took off and is on her way to the hospital to visit Reid. She is hoping to be able to take him outside again...
