6:45am: God has been good to us again and has allowed Reid to be on room air (21%) for the past two and a half hours. The nurse said he is like a new baby today as he has tolerated her touching him. While his heart rate still goes up (a sign of agitation), his oxygen requirements remain the same. His blood gasses are back to normal again and they have further weaned the pressure (PIP) down to 21 (24 yesterday). It is pitch black outside, still very tired from working 14 hours yesterday, and Kristen is dancing around and singing. Life is good -- for the moment anyway.
